Sager Metal Strip Company seeks an advanced SolidWorks and mechanical design professional to enhance the level of efficiency, skill, and professionalism of its Mechanical Design team. The candidate will be responsible for designing parts and assembling units in SolidWorks and creating mechanical drawings to support project managers and manufacturing departments.
Prepare preliminary design models and final design engineering of SolidWorks drawings for mechanical equipment, parts, and assemblies to support our customers, project managers, and manufacturing departments
Interpret plant layouts, project scope, design specifications and drawings
Create product support documentation including, but not limited to: assembly instructions, parts manuals, production methods, controls and process specifications utilizing 3D CAD exploded views of physical parts assemblies and sub-assemblies
Assist in developing improved internal processes and standards
Education requirements, certifications, work experience
Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology degree or equivalent
Experience modeling sheet metal parts in SolidWorks
Strong knowledge of SolidWorks – Certified CSWA or better, CSWPA-SM preferred
3-5 years working with Solidworks, EPDM and ANSI drafting practices
Exceptional mechanical aptitude and strong analytical skills
Well-developed communication skills including verbal, written, listening and presentation skills
Well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
Refined time management skills, high work ethic
Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and PDM/EPDM software
Strong desire to learn and contribute to the growth of the company
Proficient in a variety of machining and fabrication techniques
Process driven individual
